The 6th International Symposium on Applied Phonetics will be held in Hiroshima,
on September 14-16, 2026.
ISAPh is an international conference series. It has been held in Nagoya, Japan (2016), Aizuwakamatsu, Japan (2018), Tarragona, Spain (2021), Lund, Sweden (2022), and Tartu, Estonia (2024). It will be held in Hiroshima, Japan, in September 2026. We define “Applied Phonetics” as “practical use of phonetics in various aspects of human life and communication”. Building on this definition, the symposium welcomes interdisciplinary research that connects phonetics with phonology, explores their interfaces, and demonstrates their wide-ranging applications in areas such as speech technology, clinical practice, education, and communication in society.
